Las Vegas to host 2022/23 Concacaf Nations League Finals in June
Concacaf has today announced that the 2022/23 Concacaf Nations League Finals presented by Qatar Airways (CNL Finals) has been awarded to Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium, the destination’s newest state-of-the-art sports venue.
The second edition of the CNL Finals will be played amongst the four CNL League A group winners and will consist of semifinals, on Thursday, June 15, and a third place match and final on Sunday, June 18. The Final will crown the CNL’s second champion after the United States won the inaugural edition in 2021.
To determine the two semifinal matchups, the four participating national teams will be ranked 1-4, according to their performance in the CNL Group Stage, with the highest ranked team facing the lowest ranked team (1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3).

Allegiant Stadium, home to the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders and Super Bowl LVIII, has hosted a number of high-profile football events in the past, including the 2021 Gold Cup Final between the United States and Mexico, which became the fastest sellout in the tournament’s history.
Concacaf President and FIFA Vice President, Victor Montagliani, said: “The City of Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium will be tremendous hosts of the 2022/23 Concacaf Nations League Finals. We all enjoyed an outstanding Gold Cup Final at the same venue in 2021, and I have no doubt the quality of the teams combined with the world-class facility will draw fans from across our region.”
“The Concacaf Nations League has already transformed men’s national team football in our Confederation, providing a consistent calendar of official matches for all 41 of our Member Associations, and allowing their teams to grow and thrive on and off the pitch, and ultimately to strive to reach the next level. I am looking forward with great anticipation to the Finals of the second edition of this wonderful competition.”
Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority President/CEO, Steve Hill, said: “Following the overwhelming success of the Concacaf Gold Cup Final in 2021, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the Concacaf Nations League Finals to Las Vegas this June. The excitement of these games matches the electric energy of Las Vegas, and we look forward to once again showing why we are The Greatest Arena on Earth.”
Allegiant Stadium General Manager, Chris Wright, said: "We’re delighted to have Concacaf return to Allegiant Stadium this June with Nations League Finals. The swell of energy these teams and their fans bring to our facility and the entire city is incomparable, and we look forward to continuing to bring global sporting events like these to Las Vegas alongside our partners at the LVCVA.”
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “As the Presenting Sponsor for the 2022/23 Concacaf Nations League Finals, we are thrilled to support the best football talent in the region. This sponsorship is a testament to our dedication to sports and the positive impact it has on communities and fans alike.”
2022/23 Concacaf Nations League Group Stage
The second edition of the CNL kicked off in June 2022, with Group Stage play. Fans were treated to entertaining matches across all three leagues, with fierce competition. At the end of June’s double FIFA Window, just two of the 12 group winners, both in League C, were decided.
The remaining Group Stage matches are scheduled to take place between March 23-28, 2023. These 34 matches will decide the national teams that will secure a berth in this summer’s CNL Finals in Las Vegas (four teams) and Gold Cup (24 teams), as well as the teams that will be promoted to Leagues A and B for the third edition of the competition.
El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, and Panama are currently leading the groups in League A, with the Confederation’s 2022 FIFA World Cup participants, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States in contention.

The tournament will continue to be played in a three-League format and will include an expanded League A (up from 12 to 16 teams and a new quarterfinal round).
Furthermore, the third and fourth editions will serve as the qualification route for Concacaf national teams to the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa America (six teams) and 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup, respectively.

The first edition of the CNL Finals took place in Denver, CO, in June 2021, and culminated in an epic Final featuring Mexico and the United States. An extra time penalty conversion by US forward Christian Pulisic proved to be the decisive moment and served as the winning goal in the 3-2 victory for the United States, who was crowned as the first CNL champion.
