(Las Vegas, NV) – As part of Allegiant Stadium’s commitment to sustainability efforts, 48,960 lbs (about twice the weight of a school bus) of artificial turf previously used during stadium tours and private events was diverted from landfills and donated to local area animal rescues. 

The donation consisted of eight large rolls of turf, weighing 6,120 lbs each. Allegiant Stadium partnered with Kiss My Paws, Shari’s Shepard Rescue, A Path for Paws, and Hearts Village Alive to provide each rescue with turf for various uses.  

Allegiant Stadium is committed to developing sustainable policies and constantly improving on these efforts through waste diversion, energy optimization, water reduction, connecting to the local community’s eco-efforts, and actively engaging team members and guests in sustainable practices. 

About the animal rescues: 

Hearts Alive Village (One roll of turf – 6,120 lbs) 

Hearts Alive Village is the only all-in-one animal rescue in Las Vegas with a vet clinic, adoption center, fostering, rehoming, rehab and more. Their mission is to nurture a compassionate society where pets are supported in their homes and on their journey to find a new home. 

Kiss My Paws (2/3 roll of turf – 4,080 lbs) 

Kiss my Paws Rescue is a licensed 501(c)3 non profit organization, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of dogs in need. Kiss My Paws emerged out of a pursuit to take bold risks and to speak louder than words for those who cannot speak for themselves. Their goal as animal advocates is to improve legislation and awareness of dog rescue in the Las Vegas valley. 

A Path 4 Paws (3 1/3 rolls of turf – 20,400 lbs) 

Path 4 Paws is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer-based organization that rescues all breeds of dogs to give them a second chance at finding a loving home since 2017. The organization has grown to be one of Nevada's largest animal rescue groups providing a safe haven for dogs suffering from abuse, neglect or homelessness. 

Shari’s Shepard Sanctuary (3 rolls of turf – 18,360 lbs) 

Shari’s Shepard Sanctuary is committed to helping all types of German Shepherds in need through sheltering and socialization while searching for their forever home. The organization’s vision is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for each dog in their care, to reduce the number of German Shepherds surrendered to shelters, and to promote a society that values this loyal, loving and intelligent breed.
