Allegiant Stadium Community kicks off their inaugural SEEK Career Exploration Program

On Tuesday, April 18, Allegiant Stadium Community proudly kicked off its SEEK Career Exploration Program with a visit from students from Del Sol Academy. This anticipated day was met with enthusiasm from students and stadium staff alike as they embraced a unique opportunity for these students to gain immersive experiences and invaluable learning. On Friday, May 12, students from Valley High School and Desert Pines High School followed suit.

Allegiant Stadium’s SEEK Career Exploration Program is an initiative designed to grant Nevada students an exclusive peek into the behind-the-scenes STEM-based operations of sports and entertainment careers. Students receive career-focused learning from multiple department heads, as well as receive an exclusive tour of the stadium that further supports that learning. By engaging directly with various departments with STEM focuses, students gain firsthand knowledge about the inner workings that enable the stadium to thrive.

The visits began with a warm welcome and light breakfast as students arrived at Allegiant Stadium. Subsequently, students were divided it smaller groups, embarking on tailored tour routes, exploring various parts of the stadium including the Las Vegas Raiders and Raiderettes locker rooms. As students made their way through the tour, they were introduced to diverse departments, expanding their understanding of the vast career opportunities offered at Allegiant Stadium.

First up was the engineering department where students were able to visit the loading dock while Allegiant Stadium Chief Engineer Joe Wright and his team enlightened them with insights surrounding the engineering marvels that shape the stadium’s infrastructure.

As the tour continued, students were led down to Allegiant Stadium’s innovative field tray where they were met by sustainability consultant Krystle Johnson. The students learned about a variety of different green programs that are currently implemented at the facility and actively participated in the on-site composting process, deepening their understanding of sustainable practices.

Next, students were brought to the top level of the stadium and introduced to Aric Carpenter, Manager of Broadcast Technology, and his team. Inside Allegiant Stadium’s control rooms and press box areas, students witnessed the inner workings of broadcasting and technical operations, experiencing the power of the cutting-edge technology used throughout the facility firsthand.

The students that participated in the SEEK program were immersed in all levels, from visuals to hands-on experiences to educational content. Venturing into the heart of Allegiant Stadium, the students were guided through some of the stadium suites, wrapping up the tour with the distribution of merch swag bags and lunch.

The launch of Allegiant Stadium Community’s SEEK program garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from the students at Del Sol, Valley, and Desert Pines students. Their engagement and thought-provoking questions showcased a genuine eagerness to explore potential career paths in the STEM categories and beyond.

Looking ahead, the SEEK program aims to expand further, incorporating feedback from schools and exploring additional presentations from HR and the Community department.
